Preservation & Archiving Policy

The International Journal of Applied Medical and Health Sciences recognizes the preservation of published research as an essential component of responsible scholarly communication. The journal is committed to maintaining the long-term integrity, authenticity, accessibility, and discoverability of its published content.

Digital Preservation
The journal maintains appropriate measures to protect published articles and associated metadata against accidental loss, technical failure, or interruption of access. Preservation arrangements include:

·       Secure storage and regular backup of journal content and databases;

·       Preservation of article metadata and published full-text files;

·       Assignment of a Crossref Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to every published article;

·       Long-term preservation through the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN);

·       Digital archiving through the Internet Archive; and

·       Continued online availability through the journal's publishing platform.

These measures are intended to provide continuity of access and support the permanent identification and citation of published research.

Continuity of Access
The journal is fully open access and seeks to maintain uninterrupted public access to its published articles. Preservation copies and associated metadata are maintained independently of routine website access wherever possible to reduce the risk of content loss resulting from technical or operational disruption.

Integrity of the Published Record
Once published, an article forms part of the journal's permanent scholarly record. Published content is not altered without appropriate editorial justification.

Where a correction, Expression of Concern, or retraction is required, the relevant notice will be clearly identified and linked to the affected publication. The original publication record will be retained where appropriate to ensure transparency and traceability.

Author Self-Archiving
Authors may preserve and share their scholarly work through suitable repositories and academic platforms, including:

·       Preprint manuscripts;

·       Peer-reviewed accepted manuscripts; and

·       Final published articles.

Authors are encouraged to provide the article's full citation, DOI, and a link to the official published version when depositing or sharing their work.

Preservation Responsibilities
The journal's editorial and publishing team is responsible for monitoring its preservation arrangements and taking reasonable measures to maintain the availability and integrity of archived content.

Where preservation services, technical systems, or archival arrangements change, the journal will seek appropriate alternatives to minimize any interruption to the long-term accessibility of its scholarly record.

Policy Review
This policy is reviewed periodically to ensure that the journal's preservation and archiving practices remain appropriate for evolving standards in scholarly publishing and digital preservation.
