Copyright Policy

The International Journal of Applied Medical and Health Sciences respects the intellectual property rights of authors and contributors and supports the responsible dissemination of scholarly research through open-access publishing. This Copyright Policy explains copyright ownership, publication rights, licensing conditions, author responsibilities, and the use and reuse of published content.

Copyright Ownership
Authors retain the copyright and intellectual property rights in their original articles published by the journal.

Upon acceptance and publication, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to publish, reproduce, distribute, display, communicate, archive, preserve, index, and make the article publicly available through its website, publishing systems, repositories, indexing services, and other legitimate scholarly communication channels.

This license allows the journal to maintain the article as part of the permanent scholarly record while authors continue to retain ownership of their work.

Rights Retained by Authors
Authors retain the right to use, share, and reuse their published work in accordance with the applicable license.

Authors may, subject to the licensing conditions:

·       Use their published article for academic, educational, research, and non-commercial purposes;

·       Share the published article through personal, institutional, and appropriate academic platforms;

·       Deposit the article in institutional or subject repositories;

·       Use portions of the work in subsequent scholarly publications or academic materials;

·       Include the work in teaching, presentations, lectures, and other academic activities; and

·       Reuse their own material provided that appropriate acknowledgement is given to the original publication.

When sharing or reusing a published article, appropriate citation of the journal and the original article should be provided, including the DOI where available.

Rights Granted to the Journal
The journal is granted the rights necessary to:

·       Publish and distribute accepted articles;

·       Reproduce articles in electronic and other appropriate formats;

·       Make articles publicly accessible through the journal's publishing platform;

·       Assign and display persistent identifiers such as DOIs, where applicable;

·       Submit article metadata to indexing, abstracting, repository, discovery, and archival services;

·       Preserve published articles and associated metadata for long-term accessibility;

·       Maintain the accuracy and continuity of the published scholarly record; and

·       Promote published research through legitimate academic and scholarly communication channels.

These rights are intended to facilitate the publication, preservation, accessibility, discoverability, and dissemination of scholarly research.

Licensing
All articles published by the journal are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) License.

The license permits users to copy, redistribute, display, and adapt published material for non-commercial purposes, subject to the terms of the license.

Any permitted reuse must:

·       Give appropriate credit to the original author(s);

·       Identify the journal as the original source of publication;

·       Provide appropriate bibliographic information;

·       Include a reference or link to the applicable Creative Commons license;

·       Clearly indicate if any modifications have been made; and

·       Comply with all other conditions of the applicable license.

Commercial use of published material is not permitted under the CC BY-NC 4.0 license unless separate permission or authorization is obtained from the appropriate rights holder.

Author Responsibilities
Authors are responsible for ensuring that the material submitted to the journal does not infringe the copyright, intellectual property, privacy, or other legal rights of third parties.

Authors are expected to:

·       Ensure that the submitted work is original or that appropriate rights have been obtained for reused material;

·       Obtain permission where required to reproduce copyrighted content;

·       Properly acknowledge third-party sources and contributions;

·       Ensure that figures, tables, photographs, illustrations, datasets, and other externally sourced materials are used lawfully;

·       Comply with the terms of applicable third-party licenses; and

·       Confirm that they have the authority to grant the publication rights described in this policy.

The editorial office may request evidence of permission or licensing where necessary.

Third-Party Material
Where a manuscript contains material owned or controlled by another individual, institution, publisher, organization, or other rights holder, the authors are responsible for determining whether permission is required for its reproduction or adaptation.

Third-party material should be accompanied by appropriate attribution and licensing information where applicable.

If the necessary permission cannot be obtained, the material should be removed, replaced, or appropriately modified before publication. Unresolved copyright or permission issues may result in publication being delayed or the manuscript being declined.

Self-Archiving and Sharing
The journal supports responsible academic sharing of published research. Authors may share their published articles through appropriate channels permitted under the applicable Creative Commons license, including:

·       Institutional repositories;

·       Subject-specific repositories;

·       Personal academic websites;

·       Institutional webpages;

·       Educational and research platforms that permit such use; and

·       Other lawful non-commercial scholarly communication channels.

When sharing a published article, authors should acknowledge the journal as the original publisher and provide the complete article citation. The DOI should also be included whenever available.

Copyright Infringement
The journal takes allegations of copyright infringement seriously. Any concern regarding unauthorized reproduction, distribution, publication, or use of copyrighted material associated with a submitted or published article may be reported to the editorial office.

Where a copyright concern is substantiated, the journal may take appropriate action depending on the nature and seriousness of the matter. Such action may include:

·       Requesting correction or removal of infringing material;

·       Requiring replacement of unauthorized content;

·       Suspending or delaying publication;

·       Issuing a correction or editorial notice;

·       Retracting a published article where appropriate; or

·       Taking other measures considered necessary to protect intellectual property rights and the integrity of the scholarly record.

The journal may also communicate with relevant authors, institutions, rights holders, platforms, or authorities when necessary.

Post-Publication Copyright Matters
Published articles form part of the scholarly record, and the journal seeks to maintain their accessibility and integrity over time.

Any significant post-publication issue concerning copyright ownership, licensing, unauthorized material, or intellectual property rights will be assessed by the editorial office and addressed through appropriate editorial procedures.

Where necessary, the journal may publish a correction, clarification, notice, or retraction to ensure that the copyright and licensing status of the published record is appropriately documented.
