Plagiarism Policy

The International Journal of Applied Medical and Health Sciences is committed to maintaining originality, academic honesty, and research integrity in all published work. Plagiarism and other forms of inappropriate use of intellectual property are considered serious violations of scholarly publishing standards.

Originality Screening
Submitted manuscripts may undergo similarity or originality screening during the editorial process and, where necessary, after acceptance or publication.

Similarity reports are reviewed by the editorial office in context. A numerical similarity percentage alone does not determine whether plagiarism has occurred. Editors consider the source, nature, location, and significance of the identified overlap.

Forms of Plagiarism
Plagiarism may include, but is not limited to:

Direct Plagiarism: Using another person's words or material without appropriate attribution.

Mosaic Plagiarism: Reproducing the structure or wording of another work with only minor changes and without proper acknowledgement.

Inadequate Paraphrasing: Presenting another person's ideas or findings in substantially altered wording without citing the original source.

Self-Plagiarism: Reusing substantial portions of previously published work without appropriate citation, disclosure, or permission where required.

Duplicate or Redundant Publication: Republishing substantially similar work or submitting the same work to multiple publications without appropriate disclosure.

Data or Image Misappropriation: Using another source's data, figures, photographs, tables, illustrations, or other research materials without appropriate attribution or authorization.

Citation Misrepresentation: Deliberately providing false, misleading, or incomplete references to conceal the original source.

Acceptable Similarity
Not all textual similarity constitutes plagiarism. Similarity may reasonably occur in references, standard scientific terminology, technical descriptions, established methodological language, names of diseases, medicines, procedures, instruments, or other unavoidable technical expressions.

Properly quoted and cited material is also not considered plagiarism.

Each manuscript is assessed individually based on the circumstances and context of the identified similarity.

Author Responsibilities
Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality and proper attribution of their manuscripts. Before submission, authors should:

·       Cite all sources accurately and appropriately;

·       Properly acknowledge ideas, data, images, and other material originating from others;

·       Obtain permission for copyrighted material where necessary;

·       Disclose substantial reuse of previously published content;

·       Avoid duplicate or simultaneous submission; and

·       Ensure that all authors approve the submitted manuscript.

Editorial Action
Where significant or inappropriate similarity is identified, the editorial office may:

·       Request clarification or supporting information;

·       Require revision and proper attribution;

·       Request removal or replacement of unauthorized material;

·       Reject the manuscript where serious plagiarism is established; or

·       Take other appropriate action based on the circumstances.

Authors will generally be given an opportunity to respond to concerns before a final editorial decision, where appropriate.

Post-Publication Concerns
If credible evidence of plagiarism is identified after publication, the journal may conduct an investigation and take appropriate action.

Depending on the findings, this may include publication of a correction, an editorial notice or Expression of Concern, or retraction of the article. Relevant authors, institutions, or other responsible parties may be notified where appropriate.

Author Cooperation and Appeals
Authors are expected to cooperate with investigations and provide reasonable explanations or supporting documentation when requested.

An author who disagrees with a plagiarism-related decision may submit a written appeal with relevant evidence. Appeals will be considered objectively, and additional assessment may be undertaken where necessary.
